For the couple of years that I've been avoiding Waiting for Superman, I thought I was avoiding a serious critique hating on public schools. And maybe that's what Davis Guggenheim intended, but instead he produced what looked more like a slapstyicky parody of the idealess, rudderless "school reform" movement. Geoffrey Canada and Michelle Rhee come off as drooling morons in the hands of a ham-handed director of comedies about fart jokes. Wow. We were afraid of this? Judd Apatow could have produced a more thoughtful movie.
