I only today found out the NFL was classified as a non-profit. That's absurd. "Non-profit" is ridiculous. If Congress really wants to let them be tax-exempt, classifying them as a "church" would make more sense. After all, they operate mainly on Sunday, have arcane rituals that seem a bit absurd to outsiders like me, and require and receive unquestioning loyalty. And there's probably at least as much prayer going on in and around the NFL on Any Given Sunday as in churches.

It's popularity seems to be beginning to wane. Finally. It's not over yet, but maybe in our lifetimes it will become something, like over-hyped barbecue, ridiculously big hair, and fake Mexican food, that primarily happens in Texas.
