Last night I dreamed that the entire incoming presidential line of succession suddenly had to leave the country "on business" and didn't come back. Somehow it was decided that a new president would be elected by committee and I was assigned to the committee. We came up with a few candidates and were meeting them at this row of townhouses. There was another row of townhouses behind, and a man walked out in a bowler and long black topcoat. He announced himself as Warren G. Harding, and said maybe he wanted to be president, and why hadn't we considered him?

"You're not dead?" I asked. "No," he replied. "Just laying low. But I think it's time to get back to it. That Teapot Dome stuff doesn't seem so bad anymore."
